 Supporting Trials

  • In several trials, extracts from our proprietary postbiotics reduced blood glucose levels, percent HbA1c, and improved glucose tolerance in diabetic and prediabetic mice. Repeated treatment was also found to prevent obese, diet induced mice from developing diabetes. In healthy mice, our postbiotics did not lead to reduction of blood glucose below normal levels—no hypoglycemia, a common side effect of many current diabetic therapies.

  • Oral administration of Faecalibacterium prausnitzii (FP) decreased the incidence of severe diarrhea in dairy calves, with a 47% reduction in Scours and related mortality rate reduction of 66% in calves with severe diarrhea. FP treatment also led to improved weight gain in preweaned dairy heifers with a 13.2% increase compared to control calves.

  • Broiler chicks treated with Bactana’s proprietary postbiotic extract were found to have a significantly improved lifetime feed conversion ratio, higher market weight, and meat yield compared to broilers not treated.
